some other things to think about is your ability to participate in the entire challenge,
not just a portion.
it does take some level of commitment so be sure that you will be able to dedicate yourself.
this may be during some our spring breaks, vacations, midterms, finals, life...
so just make sure you can weigh yourself ever week, participate in challenges, and be an overall participant in the community

i am really looking forward to this second challenge. the first was a good trial run and hopefully i worked out most of the kinks. beyond that it was very successful with the winner losing 11% of her body weight. amazing.

Hello Red Team

It's time again for another FRIDAY CHALLENGE! 

catchafalling   's Challenge Questions are:

How long do you exercise in a normal day?

What exercise that you do burns the most calories?

And finally, how does the amount of calories you eat dictate how long you work out?


My challenge for the Red Team this week

Pick at least one exercise that you've never done, or don't do often, and do that exercise at least once this week. Next friday, I will ask you all which activity you picked, how many times you tried it, and for your feedback on that activity.

if you would like to engage in any part of the challenges you must follow these rules.

rules for participation:
1. must be a member of dietingsupport.
2. must not be a member of/watch any group with eating disorder related interests.
example: pro-ana, anorexia, bulimia, etc.
anti-eating disorder interests are acceptable. this is a community that will only foster the ideas of healthy weight loss through exercise, healthy eating habits, and a little competition. any members who believe they have special circumstances to this rule can email a mod.

mod note: this rule should not be taken as way to exclude any one but is really the only way to determine who should be included for these challenges. eating disorders are a touchy subject for most dieters i believe, and as some one who has dealt with the them i will not encourage, promote, or foster in any way those habits in a community based on weight loss competitions. it just wouldn't be right.



if you've got those two rules under control, you are pretty much good to go.

another note on membership and participation to the community is that we will only be taking new members the week prior to any challenge start date and membership and participation will only be allowed to those who comment on the challenge post by the date and time established.

so i hope you sign up and are ready for anything we happen to through your way.
it should be fun.

alright, well its kind of simple really.

team leaders are chosen very democratically, whomever posts in the sign up post for each challenge and indicates they'd like to be a team leader will be given the spot on first come, first gets basis due to the fact that number of teams will be decided prior to picking the leaders for those respective teams. so 36 members sign up, 3 teams, first 3 members that indicated they'd like to be leaders will get the job.

but before you sign up please understand your roles as the team leaders.
the leaders should be members who are willing to be open and honest about themselves and their weight loss journey. they should be motivated and dedicated to their individual weight loss only so that they in turn can be motivated to their team members and dedicated to the team's success.

other than purely motivation, you will be required to post a mandatory team check-up every friday for your team.

the post will consist of:
1) a topic of the mod's choosing - this could range from asking them a question about their weekly goals or seeing what they had for breakfast.

and 2) a topic of your choosing - this could deal with anything you want to talk about or share with them i.e. struggles, challenges, successes, questions, concerns, etc. so basically anything you can think of really.

only the post on friday is mandatory if you see fit post more than once a week to help keep your team motivated that is great and even encouraged actually, the more participation the better the results should be.

though team leaders will be decided upon a purely voluntary basis, their participation is mandatory. if more than one post is missed at anytime of the challenge (that includes all weigh-ins, challenges, and posting your teams check up), that member will be relinquished of their leader roles and the leader spot will be open for another member to sign up for.
