Re: what happens if a member quits/stops participating?

though i hope we never have this situation the question is bound to come up.

in the event that someone leaves the group before the challenge is over or misses two weigh-ins in a row that member's weight will be deducted from the teams total and taken off the rosters for participation percentage.

also at any time you feel like you should leave your team, letting your leader or a mod know should be considered (maybe you just need some words of encouragement or some one to talk to and i am sure either two would be willing to help).

Is this going to be based on percentage of weight loss since there is so many individuals of different sizes/shapes? i mean, to see who "wins" that week and whatnot

all is based on percentages.
so that should level the playing field.

I wonder if we could come up with some kind of "prize" (besides looking and feeling fabulous, of course) for the winning team. I don't have any ideas, but I wanted to just throw that possibility out there.

yeah, i thought about that but i only saw two solutions to having prizes:
1) every one who wanted to participate could pay like an entrance fee of some kind and then from that we'd give out a prize
or 2) if any one wanted to donate prizes to the cause.

other then that, idk if you are a team captain and your team wins you could get something for all of them. just don't take them all out for pizza ;D

Here is my idea for prizes I don't know how well it is going to work. Each week the winning team gets 20 points, the middle team gets 15 points and the, third team gets 10 points. At the end of the challenge each member of the team with the most points gets to spend something like $20-$30 of their own money on themselves, the middle team something like $10-$20, and the third team $5-$10. Then we can post what we rewarded ourselves with or what we plan on rewarding ourselves with. That way everyone gets prizes. That way the team leaders don't have to have to be spending a bunch of money on buying and sending things all over and we don't have to deal with sending money to one person.

that seems absolutely reasonable idea yet there is no way for me to make sure participants actually spend what they were alloted. to be honest, i have my own rewards system and for this if i lose the weight i hope to, i am getting myself something nice.

all good ideas but there's just no way for me from the internet make sure people are rewarding themselves.
sorry.

I think we will all have our own ways of rewarding ourselves when we are successful in losing the weight.

I know that I will need to buy jeans in a size smaller and that will be more than enough of a reward for 3 months of hard work.

I am sure that everyone involved will try their best.

Can't wait to get started.
